Former Jet2holidays trade sales general manager Lloyd Cross is joining The Travel Network Group as new chief commercial officer.
He joins the consortium on June 1 as part of senior leadership changes, including current commercial chief Vim Vithaldas moving into the role of chief strategy officer.
The role of cruise director, which was introduced to support the continued growth of the group’s cruise proposition, has now concluded, TTNG noted.
John Wilson’s tenure in the role has come "to a close", as cruise becomes more fully integrated into the wider commercial function.
Cross left Jet2holidays after 13 years last August and joined Gulf Air Holidays as Europe agency sales director five months before the outbreak of the US and Israel war with Iran.
At TTNG he will work closely with the existing commercial leadership team, including commercial director Katharina Peck, whose leadership “continues to be a key strength” for the group.
Vithaldas will be reducing his operational involvement and stepping back from day-to-day commercial responsibilities to focus on the group’s long-term growth plans, including acquisitions and wider strategic opportunities.
"Further updates will be shared as the new structure continues to embed," TTNG added.
Chief executive Gary Lewis said: “These changes reflect how our business is evolving and how we continue to bring our strengths together to deliver for our members and business partners.
“Vim has played an important role in shaping the business over many years and in his new role as chief strategy officer will continue to support the group’s long-term strategic direction and growth ambitions.
“With Lloyd joining us, and with the strength of the team already in place, we are well positioned for what comes next.
“And as we move into this next phase, I would like to thank John for his contribution during his time with us.
“He has supported the continued development of our cruise proposition, and we are grateful for the role he has played in our journey.”
