Inspire Group raises £10,000 for Reuben’s Retreat

A total of £10,000 was handed over to Reuben’s Retreat as the Inspire Group’s homeworking conference was held at the charity’s headquarters.

Funds were raised through activities ranging from sponsored runs and open water swims to delivering Christmas boxes.

Inspire managing director Lisa Henning handed over a cheque to the charity’s Nicola Graham at the event’s gala dinner at the location in Glossop in Derbyshire.

Henning said: “When we announced our plans for this conference last year, we knew we would face challenges by not hosting the event in a usual hotel with the usual facilities.

“However, as a team we wanted to make it a conference with a difference and that’s how we got involved with Reuben’s Retreat, which is not only an amazing place, but a venue that does incredible things for families.”

She added: “Whilst facing a number of issues, we constantly reminded ourselves that the event was not about making it all convenient for us, but about creating a conference that would be a great success for Reuben’s Retreat, both financially and through raising awareness.

“I can’t thank our team of homeworkers enough for the lengths they’ve gone to in raising funds for the charity, and I am delighted that we have managed to secure £10,000 for what we all feel is very worthy cause.

“I hope we have made a real example to the industry on how conferences can be staged successfully, whilst also giving back to good cause.

“What we got from staging our event at Reuben’s Retreat was a place of hope, and a venue with its very own personality that added a special dimension to our conference.”

Hoseasons was named as the group’s most supportive supplier, with Royal Caribbean awarded for being best marketing supplier and Gold Medal as best supplier as voted for by agents during the event attended by 100 delegates.
