Four additional aircraft ordered for Jet2.com

The Jet2.com fleet is to be expanded with four more Boeing 737s added to an order worth almost $400 million.

The leisure airline’s parent company Dart Group today confirmed plans to purchase the four Boeing 737-800NGs in addition to the acquisition of a total of 30 aircraft announced last year.

The additional four aircraft will be delivered between August 2018 and January 2019.

“The terms for these aircraft are substantially the same as those approved by the Board for the 2015 purchases,” the company said.

“At current list prices, the total value of this transaction is $384 million though the company has negotiated significant discounts from the list price.

“The aircraft, which will assist the company in meeting the future anticipated growth of its leisure travel business and planned fleet replacement, are expected to be funded through a combination of internal resources and debt.”

Jet2.com and sister tour operation Jet2holidays announced further expansion from its new Stansted base for next summer earlier this week.
