Eurowings to start East Midlands service

German carrier Eurowings is to start flying from East Midlands airport.

The airline is to serve Dusseldorf six days a week with fares starting at €29.99 one-way.

A Bombardier CRJ-90 regional jet will be deployed on the route from March 27.

The airline is looking to attract inbound tourists to the area around Derby, Nottingham and Leicester with the service, which is being timed to from Dusseldorf to connect with flights from Hamburg, Berlin/Tegel, Prague, Zurich and Milan.
