Sandals in talks to open resorts in Mexico

Sandals is in discussions to open two new resorts in Mexico.

Chairman of Sandals Resorts International Gordon “Butch” Stewart announced in December the company was in “advanced talks” to open the resort hotels on the east coast of the country, according to reports in the Jamaica Observer.

The company currently operates all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and the Bahamas.

Stewart was quoted as saying: “We are in final negotiations to construct two resorts in Mexico… so that will be our next stop.”

A UK spokeswoman for the company confirmed the discussions had taken place but said no further details were available at this stage.
