Members of the Specialist Leisure Group’s (SLG) executive team will take on the Ullswater Way Challenge on September 21, to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

The team of nine executives includes SLG chief executive Richard Calvert, managing director of Shearings Holidays Jane Atkins, and Neil Hardy, digital director at SLG.

The team will walk 20 miles around the Lake District’s Ullswater lake, and they are inviting staff from across the group to join them for five, 10 or the full 20 miles.

Richard Calvert, chief executive of Specialist Leisure Group, said: “We decided as an executive team to do something challenging together, but we have had an astounding response from our colleagues across the group, with over 40 signing up to join us along the way. This will not only be a great fundraiser, but also a fabulous team building exercise.”

The Alzheimer’s Society is SLG’s nominated charity for the second year running and Calvert has set a fundraising target of £10,000 for the team.

To date, the group has raised over £170,000 for the charity, and is on course to reach its target of £200,000 by the end of the year.
