Sunsail buys 25 yachts for £3.75m

Sailing holiday specialist Sunsail will add 15 yachts to its UK fleet next year, with another 10 following in 2021.

The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 410 yachts will be worth a total of £3.75 million.

Based at Port Solent, Hampshire, they will be available for charter trips along the south coast from March 2020.

Simon Cross, Sunsail president, said: “We are proud to announce the most significant investment by a charter company in the UK for the last decade.

“The acquisition of these top-quality new yachts will provide a fantastic matched fleet sailing opportunity that is fun, exciting, safe and combines comfort and luxury, unrivalled by any other charter fleet in the UK.

“The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 410s also feature a more efficient engine design than our current fleet, and this is another way that we are demonstrating our commitment to protecting the environment and waters in which we operate.”

Four founding sponsors will have exclusive naming rights for the first four yachts: Breathe Oceanic, TheYachtMarket.Com, Opihr Gin and Raymarine.

Founded in 1974, Sunsail is part of Travelopia and has a fleet of 500 yachts in 25 locations around the world.
