Applications have opened for Aussie Specialist agents in the UK to attend Corroboree West 2019 in Perth.
The event on October 5-18 gives frontline agents the opportunity to meet more than 100 Australian tourism suppliers to find out the latest news on the destination’s travel experiences.
Agents from other parts of Europe, the US and Canada will also attend the annual Corroboree event, which alternates between eastern and western Australia, and includes training workshops and familiarisation trips.
Following the workshop event in Perth, agents will break up into groups to attend five-night fam trips around the country hosted by Australia’s state and territory tourism organisations.
Applications to attend close on May 17.
Tourism Australia managing director John O’Sullivan said: “Australia has long been a popular destination for travellers from the UK, with more than 730,000 UK travellers visiting in the past year, contributing more than A$3.5 billion to the Australian economy.
“Our network of Aussie Specialist Agents is at the frontline connecting UK travellers with new travel experiences across Australia to ensure they continue to visit our country in the future.
“Attending Corroboree West is the perfect opportunity for UK agents to see first-hand the range of extraordinary travel experiences as well as the professionalism, creativity and innovation of Australia’s tourism operators at a single event.”
