Westin Hotels & Resorts opens first property in Maldives

Westin Hotels & Resorts has opened its first hotel in the Maldives.

The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort, in the Baa Atoll, has been designed as a “tranquil escape” and features 70 villas and suites.

Accommodation has been designed with eco-friendly double roofing and outdoor rainforest showers.

The hotel, located within a turtle sanctuary, has three restaurants, a Heavenly Spa by Westin and on-site kids club.

“We are thrilled to introduce the Westin brand to the Maldives, strengthening our presence in Asia Pacific,” said Mike Fulkerson from parent company Marriott International Asia Pacific.

“The opening is a significant addition to our portfolio underscoring a transformative and meaningful wellness proposition for travellers, who are increasingly prioritising well-being even while on the road.”

Brendan Corcoran, General Manager at The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort, added: “We look forward to welcoming our guests to discover the charm of the Maldives while at the same time enjoy the unparalleled level of service. Along with the Westin brand’s focus on wellness, we trust that every guest will feel exceptionally relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated during and after their stays.”

Prices start from £608 per night for two guests on a B&B basis.
