WTM 2018: Greece set to attract record 32m arrivals

Greece is on course to attract an all-time record of more than 32 million visitors by the end of the year.

The figure, a number triple the country’s population, includes cruise passengers.

Greece recorded a 15% increase year-on-year in arrivals for all modes of transport, and 17% in revenues, for the first seven months of the year.

Bookings have continued to be strong throughout the autumn and winter, according to data issued by Visit Greece at World Travel Market.

Arrivals by air grew by 9% with early bookings continuing to be strong for 2019 with the introduction of new routes from the UK by Ryanair, Jet2 and British Airways.
