A ‘themed store takeover’ at travel agencies nationwide by AMResorts in partnership with Funway saw sales soar for the resort operator.
Funway kitted out 30 agencies with AMResorts’ branded furniture, worth up to £3,000, from directors’ chairs to beanbags and puzzle tables, in September.
Travel agents had to keep the branded items on display for a month as part of the promotion and could keep them after it finished.
As a result of the store takeover – a first for the tour operator – AMResorts’ sales through Funway for the month were 156% up on the previous month.
Sales for the Dominican Republic, AMResorts’ top-performing destination, were 425% up.
AMResorts has more than 50 properties in the Caribbean and launched a partnership with Funway in June last year.
Funway marketing director Nick Talbot said: “The success is down to some truly incredible offers and the fantastic support we’ve had from our travel agents getting behind the sale and promoting it extensively with their customers.”
