Riviera Travel adds six itineraries for 2019 short-haul collection

Riviera Travel has introduced six tours and more options to personalise clients’ in-destination experiences in a new-look 2018-2019 Tours Collection.

The escorted tours feature a return to Jordan after a gap of eight years and new destinations Umbria, Sardinia and Montenegro.

The brochure includes 83 tours in total, of which 56 are in Europe and 27 are worldwide.

The new tours are: Montenegro: Budva, Cetinje & the Bay of Kotor; Spain’s Basque Country, La Rioja and Burgos; Jordan & Petra, plus Jerusalem; Ireland: Belfast, Galway & the Ring of Kerry; Umbria, Perugia & Assisi: The heart of Italy; Sardinia: Alghero, The Costa Smeralda & Corsica.

Jordan and Petra was taken out of the programme eight years ago because of political unrest. The new eight-day tour, from £1,989, offers the option of a three day excursion to Jerusalem, which was not offered previously.

“We now feel clients would welcome Jordan back in the collection,” said head of short haul product Joanne Lynn.

A new Ireland tour is seven nights instead of four and features Belfast for the first time while the Montenegro tour offers a trip to Albania.

The programme also adds new ‘personalise your holiday’ elements to 33 tours which offer clients the chance to have unusual experiences, from watching brown bears in a forest sanctuary in Romania to going to a Flamenco show in Madrid.

Lynn said: “One of the things we are trying to do is make everything more personal and flexible. Hopefully this will set us apart.”

More flexible dining options have also been added, allowing guests to stay in their accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis and eat out at restaurants instead of at the hotel.

The front of the brochure has been revamped, highlighting new tours, personalisation options and product testimonials.
