Thomas Cook appoints new chief of hotels and resorts

A new hotels chief is joining Thomas Cook with a track record including senior roles at arch rival Tui Group and Hotelbeds.

Enric Noguer will join Cook as chief of hotels and resorts on June 15.

He was most recently managing director of the Americas for Iberostar Hotels & Resorts based in Cancun.

Noguer is taking over from Ingo Burmester who recently assumed the role of chief of the UK source market.

Noguer will share his time between Thomas Cook’s new office in Palma in Majorca and Oberursel, Germany.

He has more than 20 years of experience across the world in the travel industry, working in both tour operating and in hotels and resorts.

Noguer has held a number of high profile positions for Tui and Hotelbeds Group.

Thomas Cook chief executive Peter Fankhauser said: “I am delighted we have appointed somebody with the calibre and experience of Enric in this crucial leadership role for our business.

“I look forward to Enric continuing the excellent progress we have made in the past 18 months, innovating and improving our hotels and resorts business.

“There are exciting times ahead with many new projects in the pipeline in our hotel fund with LMEY and the launch of our new hotel brand Cook’s Club.”
