BA starts serving Seychelles with year-round flights

British Airways has started serving the Seychelles with year-round direct flights from Heathrow.

A four-class Boeing 787 Dreamliner is being deployed on the two flights a week to the Indian Ocean island nation.

BA is the only airline offering a non-stop service from the UK to the Seychelles’ capital of Mahe with flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

It is the first time in 14 years that the airline has served the islands after flights were suspended in 2004.

Vice president of sales Richard Tams said: “The Seychelles is called the ‘land of perpetual summer’ and the route has proved so popular with our leisure customers that we are delighted to start serving the destination year-round.”

Return fares start at £699 in World Traveller, £999 in World Traveller Plus, £2,499 in Club World and £3,399 in First.
