Wendy Wu Tours unveils first South America programme

Wendy Wu Tours has brought out its first dedicated programme of escorted group tours and tailormade holidays in South America.

The collection has been launched as a result of the success of its first South America tour two years ago, which has successively sold out on all subsequent departures.

The new programme features itineraries including an 18-day Panoramic Peru holiday from £3,790; 19 day Best of Peru and Colombia, from £4,190;  Chile: Top to Toe, from £3,990; and a 16 day Costa Rica and Panama trip.

The Best of Peru and Colombia includes a two-day pass to Machu Picchu, a cruise across Lake Titicaca, Willys Jeep trip in Cocora, coffee hacienda experience and stay in Cartagena.

A range of extensions and stopovers are available on all trips, such as a four day Panama Beach Stay, from £540, and five day Costa Rica Beach Stay, from £560.

Global sales director John Warr said: “South America is a key venture for Wendy Wu representing the first time we have launched a major new programme of holidays in a continent outside of Asia.

“This new collection has been in the making for two years. We’ve taken our time as it was vital that we found the very same superior quality of travel experiences and tour guides in South America that we have become known for in Asia.  We’re excited to say that we’ve achieved just that.”

Meanwhile, the operator has confirmed the appointment of Liz Ryan as business development manager for the north west England and West Midlands.

The appointment to the new, expanded role follows the departure of Philippa Baines at the end of last year and follows an increase in sales through travel agents, particularly in the north west and the Midlands.
