Thomas Cook Airlines adds London-Barbados route

A second new winter service from London to Barbados has started in less than a week.

The first Thomas Cook Airlines’ weekly flight to the Caribbean island took off from Gatwick on Saturday following Virgin Atlantic starting a winter link from Heathrow.

The Thomas Cook flight from Gatwick joins three-times weekly flights to Barbados from Manchester.

More than 265,000 seats are available to Caribbean destinations this winter, up 11% on 2016-17 across Thomas Cook Group Airlines.

The nine hour, five minute flight from Gatwick is being operated by an Airbus A330-200 until March 23, 2018.

Prices start at £209.99 one-way or £369.99 for a seven-night return.

Thomas Cook Group Airlines CEO Christoph Debus said: “We’re looking forward to a successful winter programme to Barbados from both Gatwick and Manchester and are thrilled to be adding to our growing winter Caribbean programme across the group.”

Barbados Tourism Marketing UK director Cheryl Carter said: “The addition of the Thomas Cook service from London to Barbados is great news, as it makes Barbados even more accessible to UK visitors.

“We encourage first time travellers and our loyal visitors to take advantage of this increased capacity and, plan their next holiday in Barbados now.’
