Emirates UK premium traffic exceeds 2.5m in last decade

More then 2.5 million passengers have flown in Emirates’ premium cabins from the UK in the last decade.

The carrier revealed the milestone in the wake unveiling its new Boeing 777 first class cabin during the Dubai Air Show earlier tis month.

Top destinations for travellers in business class via Dubai were Singapore, Perth and Sydney, while Malé, Sydney and Singapore were most popular for first class passengers.

The latest 777 aircraft with the new features will enter commercial service on Friday (December 1) on services to Geneva and Brussels.

The airline is introducing a new fleet of chauffeur driven Mercedes S-Class cars for premium passengers arriving in the UAE.

Emirates’ UK chauffeur drive service picks up first class passengers from anywhere within a 150-mile radius of the airport, and business class passengers within a 70-mile radius.

UK and Ireland vice president Laurie Berryman said: “Emirates is renowned globally for offering an award-winning premium travel experience and we look forward to introducing our new first class cabins to passengers, and to many more decades of successful travel.

“Whenever we unveil a change to any of our cabins, we ensure to work closely with our passengers directly to offer them what they want.

“On this occasion, we have updated the first class offering to feature ground breaking technologies, such as the virtual windows for middle seats and zero-gravity seats to continue to offer best in class travel.”
