VisitEngland backs roadshow for small accommodation providers

VisitEngland is backing a nationwide roadshow aimed at supporting small accommodation providers.

The one-day, free-to-attend events are to be held in Southampton, Harrogate, Glasgow, Bristol, Penrith and Norwich from February.

The hospitality sector roadshow is being run by event organiser Be My Guest aimed at owners of B&Bs, guesthouses, holiday rentals and small hotels through to independent hosts, campsites and self-catering properties.

The events will include a marketplace, roundtables and a business talks stage. VisitEngland will support the activity in Southampton and Harrogate.

Head of business support Ross Calladine said: “This roadshow provides a great opportunity for VisitEngland to engage with small accommodation operators and showcase the resources available to them such as our Business Advice Hub.

“Raising awareness of the support available enhances England’s product offer, driving the benefits of tourism throughout the regions.”

VisitEngland’s activity at the roadshow will include talks covering accessible tourism trends and how accommodation providers can tap into the £12 billion ‘purple pound’.

Event director Diane Sheppard said: “Our aim for the roadshow is to deliver high level value and informative business development content for this industry in an environment that is approachable, friendly and fun.

“VisitEngland’s support and knowledge will make sure this event is a must attend for the small accommodation industry in the UK.”
