Leading travel firms make it into Sunday Times’ Top Track 250

More than a dozen travel and travel-related companies have been ranked as among the UK’s top growing mid-market private businesses.

Companies making the Sunday Times Top Track 250 range from Southall Travel and Travel Counsellors to hotel groups and airports.

Budget hotel chain Travelodge tops the travel sector companies featured, coming in at 8th place out of 250 with sales of £597.8 million and an operating profit of £61 million last year.

Long-haul specialist Southall Travel also makes the top 20, coming in at 18th position with sales of £564.3 million and an operating profit of £22.2 million.

Next comes holiday parks operator Parkdean Resorts in 36th place with sales of £431.5 million and an operating profit of £82.1 million.

Luxury hotel operator Dorchester Collection is 53rd followed by Rocco Forte Hotels (122nd) and Travel Counsellors (125th) with sales of £188.3 million and profits of £12.1 million.

Specialist operator Audley Travel makes 146th ahead of Edinburgh airport (157th), travel management company Click Travel (158th), Trainline (177th), Birmingham airport (193rd), Riviera Travel (208th), Park Holidays (213rd), Grange Hotels (217th), Firmdale Hotels (228th) and London City airport (249th).
