Thomson to integrate Lakes & Mountains product

Thomson Lakes & Mountains is moving from a standalone programme to being an integral part of Thomson Holidays.

The move coincides with the release of an expanded range of holidays for summer 2018 covering more than 60 resorts in Austria, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, and Switzerland.

Holidays for next summer will be bookable on the main Thomson website and via the contact centres that look after the entire Thomson programme, in addition to existing retail and third party agents.

The aim of the Lakes & Mountains programme integration is to further provide “effortless customer experiences,” the operator said.

The change follows nine months of work transferring the whole Lakes & Mountains programme from existing systems onto platforms used by the rest of Tui UK & Ireland, as well as designing and creating new web pages plus training contact centres and retail agents.

Retail agents will have Lakes & Mountains holidays returned alongside the other available options when they search on Thomson’s retail browser.

They will have access to services like ‘manage my booking online’ and ‘select your seat’ from the autumn, which will be simpler for agents to manage, reducing the need for them to call the contact centre.

Thomson Lakes & Mountains managing director Chris Logan: “Lakes & Mountains destinations have a natural fit with the Thomson portfolio and fully integrating these holidays into the core programme will offer our customers and agents even more choice when searching for the perfect holiday”.

Holiday prices start at £479 per person based on four sharing for a week’s self-catering on Lake Garda, Italy, departure May 2018 including return flights from Gatwick and transfers.
