First Choice to turn holidaymakers into filmmakers

First Choice has launched a campaign to showcase its customers’ holiday snaps and videos, and offer four holidaymakers the chance for their footage to be made into a film.

The film competition was inspired by a 10-year-old customer, Beth Ward, who wrote to First Choice about a YouTube video she had made during her holiday in Mexico.

The all-inclusive operator recruited TV star and produce Martin Kemp to add some “movie magic” to her footage.

The film, Beth in Mexico, has been screened in Vue cinemas across the country during spring.

Now First Choice has launched its ‘All In Productions’ competition, offering four filmmakers the chance to have their movie professionally edited and premiered on the big screen at Vue.

There is also a prize of a family holiday to First Choice’s Azul Fives by Karisma Resort in Mexico.

The competition will be promoted in Thomson featuring First Choice stores across the UK, with digital screens showcasing content to encourage holidaymakers to share their best holiday moments.

The campaign also highlights research by First Choice about sharing holiday photos on social media.

It found that four in 10 UK adults admit they are ‘social tourists’ – exploring an average of 14 new countries each year via the social media feeds of family and friends.

Two thirds of UK adults also say they have been inspired to travel more widely after seeing and reading about destinations on Facebook and Twitter.

Jeremy Ellis, First Choice marketing and customer experience director, said: “Whilst technology has made it easier to capture content, taking the time to edit footage is still a barrier to the perfect holiday film.

“First Choice wants to inspire holidaymakers to make the most of their footage, and have created www.all-in-productions.co.uk to share tips and tricks from experts.”
