Association of Women Travel Executives reveals new board

Sarah Clayton-Turner of Travel Trade Marketing has taken over as chair of the Association of Women Travel Executives.

She steps up after two years as vice-chair of the organisation with Lindsay Garvey Jones from Holiday Extras taking the deputy role.

Debbee Dale has stepped down as chair and will be recognised at a special dinner in London on May 9.

The changes for 2017-18 were made at the AWTE annual meeting.

Other positions confirmed were: secretary, Sarah Hanan from Dunleavy White; finance director, Sarah Johnson from Lotus UK; membership director, Deb Merrifield from Marketing Radar; events directors, Jessica Bain from Latin Routes and Donna Allock from MoneySuperMarket; PR director, Louise Hodges from Travelzoo; project and partnership director, Rivka Hawley from Travlaw; website and communications directors, Claire Osborne from Travelport and Andrea Clayton-Norris from All Clear Insurance and chair of AWTE Benevolent Aphrodite Burton.

Clayton-Turner said: “The association is in a really healthy position both in terms of member numbers, but also with a fantastic line up of events scheduled in for this year.

“We are looking to increase our global proposition in the next 12 months following the huge success of the Ireland chapter in Dublin earlier this month.

‘I would like to say a personal thanks to Debbee Dale, who not only has given phenomenal commitment to the association, but I have learnt a huge amount from her over the past few years on the board.”
