CMV to depart from Poole and Portsmouth in 2018

Cruise and Maritime Voyages has unveiled new departures from Poole and Portsmouth in 2018.

The cruise line has added a further seven UK sailings on Astoria out of the south coast ports in next year’s summer and autumn programmes.

Commercial director at CMV Chris Coates said: “Local departures, convenience and bringing cruising closer to home is proving a big hit with our customer base and we now offer the most comprehensive choice of 16 different departure port options across the British Isles.

“Market demand from the southern counties has steadily increased in recent years and this new initiative is also responding to positive regional growth.”

The sailings offer ten different destinations including France and Norway.

The three departures scheduled out of Poole include two cruise combination options such as a three night cruise to Rouen in France and the chance to return to watch the Bournemouth International air show in September.

The four cruises offered from Portsmouth will travel to the Norwegian Ffords, starting from £634 and the 13-night Baltic cities and St Petersburg cruise from £869.

Port director at Portsmouth International Port, Mike Sellers said: “Astoria will feel right at home here, and her passengers will have the best start and end to their holidays as they cruise past the iconic Spinnaker Tower, Old Portsmouth and the Historic Dockyard.”

The line has also introduced a Pullman Express coach service which will offer 30 different regional pick-ups across Dorset, Hampshire, Sussex and London with prices starting at £20.
