Global travel industry event organiser Connections has been crowned Best Conference at the Eventex Awards.
The company was also shortlisted for the Best Tradeshow category, along with three other finalists.
The awards were held as part of Eventex 2017, a global events showcase which took place in Dublin.
Connections’ invitation-only events service senior leaders and experts in luxury, wellness and meetings across the world to build relationships and stimulate ideas for their businesses’ futures.
The other shortlisted shows in the Best Conference category were Westland Family Conference, Pioneers Festival 2016 and Engage Prague 2016. The other Best Tradeshow award finalists were Microsoft Future Decoded 2016, Cacao Barry World Chocolate Masters and Innovation Expo.
Judges said the Connections Events team stood out for their performance in each of the criteria: design, crisis management, marketing strategy, innovation, participant engagement and planning to meet objectives.
Connections is part of Europe’s largest travel and hospitality B2B media company, Jacobs Media Group, which also publishes Travel Weekly. The brand was founded in 2014, with events taking place in Portugal, Abu Dhabi, China, Italy, Spain, Thailand and Brazil. Future events will take place in India, Ireland, Ecuador, Portugal and Italy.
Micaela Giacobbe, founder of Connections and director of commercial events at Jacobs Media Group, said: “It’s wonderful that Connections has been recognised by the Eventex Awards for the second year – after our second full year of operation.
“Our global network of attendees has grown so much over the past two years, and we will launch some exciting new event formats in 2017, as we continue to innovate. One thing that will not change is our commitment to delivering high quality experience-based networking platforms across the world.”
The Eventex Awards are the only global annual awards honouring meeting and event professionals for their work in producing valuable and engaging event experiences.
