When you mention Barbados, clients’ thoughts may instantly turn towards its blonde beaches. But they’re just the beginning for this remarkably diverse destination – an island overflowing with culture, foodie delights and a welcoming population. The Barbados Elite Club is a destination hub with structured training, learning tools and updates. Agents are rewarded with points by logging bookings on its portal: £12.50 for each accommodation-only trip and £25 for flight and accommodation trips. Points can be redeemed against various rewards.

First-hand experience

The island’s tourist board, Visit Barbados, also understands that digital learning can only take you so far. There’s nothing quite like seeing a destination for yourself and it knows how important fam trips are to educating agents and offering them first-hand insights into Barbados’ range of accommodation, culinary options and activities. Visit Barbados regularly hosts fam trips and will continue doing this in 2026 and beyond, as it continues to invest in trade relationships and value knowledgeable agents. This was witnessed first-hand as Barbados hosted Travel Weekly’s second Inspiring Women Retreat at the end of 2025, with 30 senior female travel executives hosted on the three‑night trip, staying in luxury beachfront resort Colony Club, A Luxury Collection Resort.

Attendees explored Barbados’ cuisine, eating seasonal dishes at Local & Co, sampling Caribbean-meets Mediterranean food at Sea Shed, trying Barbadian food at Palm Terrace in the upscale Fairmont Royal Pavilion Barbados and enjoying a lunch at a luxurious villa in Apes Hill. They also discovered the island’s character, from its culture and history on the ‘Footprints of our heritage’ island tour to a pottery workshop and sailing Barbados’ glittering waters on a Cool Runnings catamaran cruise. This is a snapshot of how agents will experience Barbados – and how the tourist board continues to support the trade.

“Barbados was a brilliant choice for our second Inspiring Women Retreat. During our three nights there, we managed to get out and experience the island. I really felt we got to know Barbados and that’s exactly what you want from a fam trip – to return from somewhere and feel like you truly understand the destination so you can confidently sell it to clients.”
