Travel Counsellors staff support Christmas gift charity

Travel Counsellors staff have donated new toys, books and gifts to a ‘Mission Christmas’ charity appeal.

The initiative helps grass-root organisations across the UK who support disadvantaged children aged up to 18.

The organisations, along with social workers, head teachers and emergency services, nominate families in crisis to be supported by the appeal.

They do this by ensuring that they receive a present under the tree on Christmas Day, through the donation of toys.

The company’e employees have also raised funds and donated time to Glossop-based charity Reubens Retreat and donated a two-night cruise aboard the Disney Magic to a special Reubens Retreat family.

Travel Counsellors chief executive Steve Byrne said: “Mission Christmas is an absolutely fantastic cause, and we are delighted to be able to support this wonderful charity in the lead up to Christmas.

“Many of our staff have family of their own, so we all know the importance of giving gifts – especially to children – at this time of year.

“I am overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of the head office team. We collected lots of incredible toys under the Christmas tree, as well as through the online Mission Christmas gift list, which people could donate to when working from home.

“It’s a real reinforcement of how businesses can be a force for good, empowering people to care and be passionate about the things that really matter to them, and give back to those who need help and support.”
