Not Just Travel reports ‘busiest ever Sunday’

Homeworking travel agency group Not Just Travel had its ‘busiest ever Sunday’ of trading yesterday.

Total sales were up 7% on January 30 compared to the group’s previous record, which was set on Monday, January 24.

Bookings by its agents also increased by 7% on the number made in January 2020.

The top-selling short-haul destinations were Cyprus, Greece, Spain and Turkey with the US a long-haul favourite.

Co-founder Steve Witt said: “People are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel now. Confidence is high in travel and customers are eager to make sure they don’t miss out on a chance to get away this year.

“Places are booking up fast due to limited availability – I think people think we’re joking, but it’s really true. With spaces being rebooked after Covid, the next few years will be very busy – it’s not a marketing plot, it’s just a fact.”

The homeworking group expects today (January 31) to be one of the busiest-ever evenings for bookings as it believes consumer confidence is “surging back”

Isobel and Mark McCardie, of Not Just Travel member Rock My World Travel, made almost £4,000 in commission in one January day, and sold more than £30,000 of holidays.

Isobel said: “It’s been crazy busy, it has been our best month and feels like pre-Covid levels. People are feeling more confident and happy. Our biggest sales were to Dubai and Lapland, and our top selling destinations for this year so far are: Dubai, Portugal, Mauritius, USA.”
