Midcounties PTAs given extra marketing tools and support for peaks

Midcounties’ Personal Travel Agents will have access to extended business support during the peak selling period in addition to a regularly updated Customer Check List featuring the latest travel rules and restrictions.

The initiatives were outlined to the home-based agents at a series of Christmas roadshows hosted by the division’s support team – two of which were held in person and one virtually.

Agents were also told about the PTAs’ new peaks marketing campaign, which includes branded assets for use on social media, online and on recently-refreshed personal websites featuring the tagline “Look Forward To…”.

Sheena Whittle, head of The Personal Travel Agents, said: “Despite December taking a downwards turn, I’m still full of positivity for 2022. Sales in October and November 2021 exceeded 2019, pre-pandemic levels. Cancellations were coming down and sales were going up.

“We hope that the new variant is a short-term set-back in an otherwise steady recovery, and we need to keep looking forward, there are bright times ahead.”

She added: “Our new look messaging is designed to capture the PTAs’ customers desire for their next adventure, tapping into pent-up demand and to showcase that booking with an experienced agent who works in partnership with The Midcounties Co-operative is the best way to travel in 2022.

“The resilience that I see in our agents, and indeed across the whole industry this year, is incredible. We’ve had such a great time seeing everyone face-to-face and we’re dedicated to being there to support our homeworkers every step of the way.”
