Specialist choir tour operator ceases trading

A specialist choir touring company has ceased trading, the Civil Aviation Authority has confirmed.

Melody Music Company Ltd held an Atol licence up until March 31, 2021. Bookings and payments made after April 30, 2021, are not Atol protected.

The Cardiff-based company traded under website melodymusic-company.com. It organised group choir trips across Europe, the US, Canada, Australia, South Africa and South America.

Some trips also coincided with sporting events, like the British and Irish Lions rugby union tour; and it also led tours to the First and Second World War battlefields.

Tailor-made tours were also offered.

Melody Music was originally set up by managing director Mark Burrows as a TV and promotion company, with Burrows producing and directing programmes and concerts with artists such as Bryn Terfel, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Petula Clark, and more than 100 choirs.

The Civil Aviation Authority said it is collating information from the company and will update its website with more details soon.

It reminded customers and agents that claims forms from other company failures will not be accepted.
