Santa’s Lapland adds extra capacity to cope with 2021 demand

Festive break specialist Santa’s Lapland has added 1,000 seats to its 2021 programme to cater for “high demand”.

The Hotelplan-owned brand is offering more options from London and regional airports, including Bournemouth, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle.

The strong demand has already prompted Santa’s Lapland put its 2022 programme on sale early. The operator cancelled its December 2020 programme in October as a result of Covid-19.

Joe Ponte, Santa’s Lapland’s chief executive, said: “Visiting Santa in his home, riding in a husky sleigh, elves, igloos, snow, reindeer, tandem skiing, tobogganing, spotting the Northern Lights and so on, all make for a pretty special Christmas. It’s the perfect antidote to help families rekindle the magic.

“New Santa’s Lapland bookings for 2021 have poured in.

“Combined with the high numbers of people who chose to rebook for 2021 after their 2020 trips were suspended, we’ve seen great numbers filling our 2021 programme – so much so that we have added more seats from our regional airports to keep up with demand.”
