Hajj specialist ceases trading as Atol holder

The Civil Aviation Authority has announced that Amaana Tours Ltd ceased trading as an Atol holder on Wednesday (June 29).

The announcement from the CAA said: “The company based in East Ham, London traded under the name Amaana Tours Ltd and website www.amaanatours.co.uk

“We are currently collating information from the company and will update this page as soon as possible.

“Whilst waiting for further information, please do not use claim forms from other failures as these cannot be accepted.”

Founded in 2003, the company specialised in Hajj and Umrah tours, according to its website (pictured).

The Guardian reported on Sunday (June 26) that some British Muslim travel companies face going out of business after Saudi Arabia launched a new system for applying for the Hajj pilgrimage.

The Saudi government announced this month that pilgrims from Europe, the US and Australia could no longer book through travel agencies and would instead have to apply through a lottery system.
