Strikes by workers who look after passengers with disabilities at Stansted have been called off to allow staff to vote on an improved pay offer.
More than 100 Unite members who work for ABM were due to walk out from tomorrow (April 17) until Monday, April 20 in a dispute about pay.
However, following negotiations between Unite, the employer and the conciliatory service Acas, the action has been postponed after a new offer was put forward.
Unite regional officer Steve Edwards said: “After a new offer was put forward to members, we have decided to suspend strike action to allow them to vote on the offer.”
Unite said last week that many ABM staff are currently paid below the London Living Wage of £14.80, which it said makes them among the lowest paid at Stansted.
ABM said it was “disappointed that industrial action is to be taken given our constructive engagement with Unite the Union”.
