With its stunning scenery and a host of wedding and honeymoon services, clients should consider Tobago for a romantic escape

The unspoiled, untouched and undiscovered island of Tobago makes for an ideal destination for a romantic getaway, with its secluded beaches and calming waters. This natural gem in the southern Caribbean is the perfect place to unwind and spend uninterrupted time with your partner.

Its lush rainforests and natural pools are waiting to be explored, while the stretches of white-sand beaches are some of the best places to witness stunning sunsets. For accommodation, Tobago is full of romantic boltholes allowing couples to easily escape from the stresses of modern life and reconnect with one another.

It’s also a great destination for those thinking about getting married abroad, with a multitude of on-island services and packages available for religious and non-religious ceremonies, including venue finding, flowers, hair and make-up, and more.

Couples and their guests can take advantage of the island’s natural wellness offerings, like a waterfall massage or yoga with a rainforest view. Those with an interest in watersports will enjoy the diving, kayaking and paddleboarding options available in the crystal-clear sea.

Tobago is a haven for wildlife. Adventure travellers will love venturing into the protected rainforest, known as the island’s ‘emerald blanket’, where they’ll be rewarded with glimpses of its diverse fauna. Keep an eye out for the country’s 260 bird species, including the white-tailed sabrewing hummingbird and the rufousvented chachalaca, also known as the cocrico, the national bird of Tobago.

For a local experience, consider an afternoon ‘liming’, the Caribbean pastime of relaxing and doing nothing. Enjoy an evening stroll on the beach as the sun sets, before tucking into the delicious national dish of curried crab and dumplings.
