Princess Cruises to feature in Channel 4 documentary series

Princess Cruises will feature in an eight-part series on Channel 4 filmed on four ships in the fleet.

The first episode of Cruising to the Ends of the Earth will air on Channel 4 from April 26 at 8pm.

Each episode will be narrated by actor Greg Wise and focus on the crew’s contributions to each voyage in destinations spanning the Mediterranean, Alaska, Japan and South Korea.

The series was filmed on Sun Princess, Discovery Princess, Royal Princess and Diamond Princess.

Vice-president for the UK, Ireland and EMEA Eithne Williamson said: “Through the power of television, viewers are invited to experience the joy of cruising with Princess, explore awe‑inspiring destinations, and meet the incredible crew who are at the heart of every journey.

“By sharing their stories on screen, the series celebrates the passion and care that make each voyage unique. It captures the beauty of the world, the adventure found at every port, and the moments that make cruising with Princess so special.”

Speaking earlier this year at a roundtable with other Carnival UK chiefs, Princess Cruises sales director for the UK and Europe Yasmin Mckechnie was hopeful the new Channel 4 series would translate into more sales, adding: “Hopefully by the end of the year, we’ll have more guests interested in the brand and that [business] will come into travel agents, and we’ll be able to increase agent confidence.”
