Video: Myth-Busting May

The Association of Touring and Adventure Suppliers is releasing a series of short videos in May to help agents to dispel myths about the escorted touring sector, to inspire agents to help them market and sell more escorted tours to clients.

‘Myth-busting May’ follows the inaugural Touring and Adventure Month during April, which promoted the sector among agents and consumers.


Sarah Weetman from Travelsphere & Just You tackles the myth that that solo holidays are only for single people!

Hayley Morris from Saga Holidays tackles the myth that ‘you are stuck with a bunch of strangers all the time’

Lee Evanson from Insight Vacations tackles the myth that that guests are ‘stuck on a cramped bus all day’

Mark Harris from Abercrombie & Kent and Cox & Kings takes on the myth that escorted holidays are expensive and it is cheaper to go it alone

Intrepid’s Carrie Day tackles the myth that the group sizes are really large on escorted holidays.

Explore head of global sales Ben Ittensohn tackles the myth that ‘Active holidays are only fot the super-fit people who want to sleep in tents’.

APT Agent Club’s Jessica Shelton-Agar tackles the myth that ‘I’ll have to eat in the tour’s recommended restaurants everyday nut I prefer to find my own’.

Newmarket Holidays’ Richard Forde tackles the myth that ‘There are so many extras on an escorted holiday that I don’t really know how much it’s going to cost me’.

Cosmos’ Janet Parton tackles the myth that clients don’t spend much time in each destination during a tour
