Inghams extends rail options to European walking programme

Inghams is expanding rail travel options to more than 20 European resorts featured in its 2024 walking programme.

The enhanced rail offering to 19 resorts by Inghams Walking brings the option up to 23.

The routes are designed to offer a sustainable travel option to destinations in France, Austria, Switzerland and Italy.

Departing from London St Pancras, all routes have minimum changes and easy transfers with an emphasis on the journey becoming a part of the holiday, according to the operator.

An extra £100 discount is being made available on top of a current £100 re-booking offer to help encourage holidaymakers to opt for rail.

The move follows the introduction of train itineraries across Inghams’  ski programme this winter.

Ingham’s Walking senior sustainability manager Krissy Roe said: “Following the success of our winter rail programme, we’re proud to now be offering train travel options into 23 of our favourite European walking resorts this summer with Inghams Walking.

“More and more customers are keen to embrace the adventure of train travel and we’re determined to make it as easy and smooth as possible for our customers to opt for these lower carbon transport choices.

“We know that flying is the largest part of our holiday carbon footprint and as an industry we need to be doing all we can to reduce our impacts.

“This means we need to see more subsidies and support for train travel so that it makes sense for people’s pockets and the planet.”
