Business travel veteran Julian Munsey has been named as sales director at Meon Valley Travel.
He joins from Reed & Mackay where he was senior manager, strategy and consulting.
Prior to this and the acquisition of Hillgate Travel, Munsey was part of Hillgate’s senior management team and the company’s head of sales.
Munsey brings more than 20 years experience in the travel management sector to Meon Valley Travel.
The Hampshire-based TMC’s founder and managing director James Beagrie said: “With the roll out of the Covid vaccine now progressing, one hopes that we can now start to see the light at the end of the tunnel with respect of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We see 2021 as a seminal year for Meon Valley Travel and believe that there is a fantastic opportunity to attract new SME clients to our business travel division.”
Munsey added: “The past nine months have been truly awful for everyone involved in our industry. Our sector has been left decimated. My thoughts are with everyone that has been affected.
“I genuinely believe that now is the right time to look forward. It is the right time to be positive and the right time for us, as an industry, to start to collectively rebuild.
“I am therefore delighted to be joining the Meon Valley Travel team, holding a steadfast belief that the value we can offer has never been more relevant. Now is the right time to capitalise on this and to seek new client partnerships.”
