EasyJet promotes Sophie Dekkers to chief commercial officer

EasyJet has promoted Sophie Dekkers from customer director to chief commercial officer.

Dekkers has been with the airline since 2007 in a variety of roles including UK country director, director of scheduling and head of business.

In her new role, she will be responsible for network and planning, scheduling, commercial and digital.

Dekkers’ appointment follows the resignation of Robert Carey and she will take over with immediate effect.

Group markets director Thomas Haagensen will take over Carey’s responsibilities for marketing and customer teams as the airline’s group marketing and markets director.

Chief executive Johan Lundgren said: “I am delighted to have appointed Sophie Dekkers as chief commercial officer.

“She has a wealth of experience at easyJet in a diverse range of roles so the huge depth and breadth of knowledge of the airline and commercial acumen will serve us very well going forward. I look forward to welcoming Sophie to the management board.”
