EasyJet Holidays launches trade promotion

EasyJet Holidays has launched a promotion offering customers £100 off packages booked via a travel agent in celebration of high street shops reopening this week.

From Friday (December 4) to Monday (December 7), agents will be able to offer the discount on any easyJet holidays package worth £1,000 or more for travel during summer 2021.

England’s lockdown ended on December 2, with the re-introduction of the government’s tiered system.

EasyJet Holidays said the move was designed to support the trade, especially since stores will have been closed during the Black Friday promotion period – and that it was part of the operator’s commitment to working with agents. It started selling through the trade earlier this year.

They hope the offer’s timing, after news of the Pfizer vaccine being approved in the UK, will benefit from increased consumer confidence to book travel for summer 2021.

Brad Bennetts, head of distribution at easyJet Holidays, said: “We know just how hard it’s been for everyone working in the travel industry this year. We care about the success of every travel agent, so we want to show our support as we’re all in this together.

“We may be new into the market but we are committed to working closely with agents. We’ve seen some encouraging signs and we know people want to make holiday plans to look forward to, so we hope this will help agents to help customers make summer holiday bookings.”

Claire Gibson, head of commercial at the UK’s largest high street travel agency Hays Travel, added: “This is really welcome news as we look forward to re-opening our stores and welcoming customers back to start making holiday plans. Thanks to easyJet Holidays for their offer and the continued support of the trade. These are all really encouraging moves and we can’t wait to help organising and booking more holidays.”
