Costa cancels Deliziosa cruises after Greek lockdown announced

Costa Cruises has suspended sailings to Greece on board Costa Deliziosa as a result of the Covid-19 lockdown measures imposed in the country from Saturday.

The Carnival Corporation-owned brand will end its cruises calling at Trieste, Italy; Katakolon, Athens, and Iraklion, Greece, and Bari, Italy, on November 7.

Cruises are scheduled to resume on December 26, with an Italian cruise calling at Trieste, Bari, Brindisi and Catania with more ports due to be added.

The line said its health protocols developed in coordination with authorities and medical experts had proven cruise travel with enhanced Covid-19 precautions is possible, and reported a “strong appreciation from guests on safety aspects” since its restart on September 6.

Guests due to sail on Deliziosa’s impacted voyages will be contacted by the line.

Costa Smeralda, the other Costa ship currently in service, will continue her Italian cruises as scheduled.
