Virtual Balkans trade showcase to feature 1,200 business meetings

New Deal Europe, a virtual event for the travel trade focusing on the Balkans region, will take place on Monday and feature more than 1,250 meetings between 114 tour operators and 47 suppliers.

The event will host suppliers from 11 Balkan countries, and of the operators in attendance, 60% will be from the UK.

In addition to the business meetings, the event will include three seminars focusing on consumer trends and how the region is looking to emerge from the Covid-19 crisis.

Tine Murn, co-founder, said: “We are delighted with the response to our event. The last-minute rush from companies wishing to register and take part was a challenge for us, but a very positive one, and I’m delighted that we can bring so many people together in this time of crisis.”

Fellow co-founder Robert Dee added: “We really want to develop tourism to the region and help everyone to do that even in these challenging times.

“With that in mind our keynote seminar will be about sharing ideas between operators and suppliers to get through the crisis and generate business now and beyond the pandemic”

Murn said:  “The pieces are in place for a very productive day and a great first event. We now have a perfect platform for growth for future events focused on delivering tourism to this exciting region.”
