AmaWaterways expands no-fly river cruise options

AmaWaterways has expanded its no-fly river cruise offering for 2021, with another 11 itineraries now being offered with rail connections from the UK.

The additions mean guests who want to travel by train can now choose from a total of 15 cruises along the Rhine, Moselle, French rivers and Dutch and Belgian waterways.

Itineraries added to the no-fly programme are Captivating Rhine, which takes clients from Amsterdam to Basel; Impressions of the Seine and Paris, from Paris to Le Havre; and Essence of Burgundy and Provence, from Chalon-sur Saône to Arles.

AmaWaterways is also offering free standard-class return rail travel on selected 2021 departures.

Overseas private return transfers from train stations to vessels are also included.

Most services operate direct from London St Pancras station or with only one change.

Pent-up demand for 2022 river cruises claimed

Jamie Loizou, UK managing director, said: “We have seen huge uplift in demand for no-fly options in 2021. Rail access to the continent is quick and easy and with direct trains to many of our departure points, getting to your ship has never been easier.

“Given such strong demand, we felt the time was right to roll out an expanded programme with a wide range of options for our guests to choose from.

“The introduction of our free rail and private transfers promotion ensures it is not only convenient but offers great value for money too.”

The free rail offer is valid on selected departures booked by September 30.
