Fred Olsen Cruise Lines outlines restart plans

Fred Olsen Cruise Lines plans to have new ships Bolette and Borealis operating itineraries in spring 2021.

The line confirmed the two new ships were expected to be sailing again in March or April next year, with Braemar also expected to return at a similar time.

Fred Olsen said Balmoral will be the first ship in its fleet to return, but has yet to set a date.

Bolette and Borealis, which were recently acquired from Holland America Line, will go on sale next month and will take on the existing itineraries for Boudicca and Black Watch, which have both left the fleet.

Sailings on Bolette will go on sale on September 7 and Borealis’ voyages will be available to book on September 15.

Passengers who have a booking on either Boudicca or Black Watch will have their cruise automatically transferred onto the new ships.

Peter Deer, Fred Olsen Cruise Lines’ managing director, said: “We have been working hard to add that ‘Fred. Olsen touch’ to our two new ships, Bolette and Borealis, so they are ready to offer the Fred Olsen experience that our returning guests know and love.”

Bolette and Borealis are set to join the rest of the fleet in Babcock’s Rosyth Facilities in Scotland early next month.
