David Selby sets up cruise alliance with international experts

Six international cruise experts have united to form the Cruise Professional Advisors Alliance. 

One of the founding members is David Selby who has been in the cruise industry for 23 years including 10 years at the helm of Thomson Cruises (now Marella Cruises). Selby is now managing director of Travelyields.

He is joined in the new Alliance by Shannon McKee, founder and chief executive of Access Cruise Inc; Mike McFadden, founder and chief executive of Mac Maritime; Roger Blum, principal at Cruise & Port Advisors; Ioannis Bras, chief executive of Five Senses Consulting; and Peter Wild, principal of GP Wild.

The group hopes to help spearhead efforts in the industry’s recovery post-Covid 19.

The CPPA website says: “Each member of the Cruise Professional Advisors Alliance has a proven track record of success in providing bottom line results for their clients. 

“Specialised services include but are not limited to: cruise destination and port development; port management and representation; cruise statistics; business planning; strategic marketing; economic analysis and infrastructural planning; terminal and route development; onboard revenues; cruise planning/destination technology; customer and consumer surveys; secret shopper services; ship simulation/navigation studies;  safety and environmental impact studies and tender and contract evaluation.”
