A-ROSA resumes river cruises on the Rhine

River cruise operator A-ROSA Flussschiff has today resumed cruises on the Rhine.

Yesterday departure from Cologne restarted with a 10-day Experience the Northern Rhine and Moselle itinerary.

This follows the restart of cruises on A-ROSA ALVA on the Douro on June 17.

Cruises on the Danube will resume on June 20 and itineraries in France are scheduled to restart on July 11.

Jörg Eichler, chief executive of A-ROSA Flussschiff said: “We are so pleased that our ships can once again set sail on some of Europe’s most beautiful rivers.

“The initial feedback from our guests who are currently sailing on the Douro has been very positive and today is another important step for us as we restart on the Rhine.

“We have worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth implementation of our new health and hygiene concept so that our guests have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday, safe in the knowledge that we have their health, safety and well-being at the very heart of all we are doing.”

A-ROSA’s first voyages will depart with reduced capacity, which will vary from ship to ship.

The operator is offering multi-course dining and social distanced seating arrangements onboard.

Pools and gyms can continue to be used and spa treatments will be available in SPA-ROSA, all in compliance with the new hygiene regulations, A-ROSA said.

Excursions by bike, bus or as a walking tour will also continue in smaller groups than usual.

A-ROSA warns its original 2020 schedule may be subject to adjustments due to official regulations or changing local conditions.
