Larnaca targets repeat visitors as Cyprus reopens

Larnaca Tourism Board is sharing a new ‘time to return’ video on social media as Cyprus prepares to welcome back tourists.

The island is beginning to come out of lockdown with the first hotels reopening on June 5 ahead of international flights arriving four days later.

The video marks the reopening of Cyprus and uses Larnaca Tourism Board’s ‘They Always Come Back’ slogan launched in 2016 to highlight the high percentage of repeat visitors.

More than 60% of visitors to the region are on repeat trips, one of the highest among coastal areas on the island.

Tourism board chairman Dinos Lefkaritis said: “The high repeat visitors to our shores shaped our slogan and the message on this new video, as we prepare to reopen for tourism.

“We are certain that it is the strength of our repeater guests which will also result in the visitor numbers we receive during this challenging year.”

The video captures the town and the district of Larnaka, including water sports and gastronomy.
