Mr & Mrs Smith fundraiser aims to offer NHS staff hotel stays

Mr & Mrs Smith has launched a Crowdfunder campaign to reward NHS and care home staff with a night away at some of the UK’s top boutique properties.

More than 45 hotels have signed up to support the initiative which offers room nights to NHS staff for just £50 each. The campaign hopes to raise at least £50,000 on Crowdfunder to give 1,000 key workers a night off.

Mr & Mrs Smith is funding the first 100 room nights and won’t take any commission from the initiative, with every penny going to the hotels to cover their basic costs for each stay.

In early July names will be drawn at random to decide who receives a night away at a UK Smith Hotel.

James and Tamara Lohan, founders of Mr & Mrs Smith, said: “Although pretty much every person and business has been affected in some way by this horrific virus, I think we can all agree that healthcare workers are having a very different experience to the rest of us – something that’s been emphatically recognised by the whole country these past few weeks.

“We’d love to reach our target on Crowdfunder and give them a much-needed break at a Smith hotel – it’s definitely time we looked after them for a change!”
