TV explorers contribute to new Kuoni adventure hub

TV presenters and explorers Simon Reeve, Levison Wood and Megan Hine are to share stories about their adventures around the world in partnership with Kuoni.

The new Kuoni adventure hub aims to “keep the spirit of worldwide travel alive”.

A deal between the operator publisher Hodder & Stoughton will enable people to download free chapters from their books, listen to podcasts on Soundcloud and view short video clips.

Long-time Kuoni ambassador Reeve, who has made television programmes around the globe from Australia to the Indian Ocean, has recorded a special message.

The adventure hub allows people to read or listen to some of the most memorable moments of his career from his book Step-by-Step.

Reeve reminds people to take time to remember past travels, think adventurously and that there will be light at the end of the Covid-19 tunnel.

Wood, whose latest Channel 4 adventure Walking With Elephants is detailed in new book The Last Giants, shares insight from expeditions walking in the Himalayas, the Americas and Arabia.

Hine discusses her experiences acting as consultant for private individuals and on TV shows around the world including Bear Grylls: Mission Survive and Running Wild.

Kuoni chief executive Derek Jones said: “We may not be able to travel right now, but we want to continue to inspire people to have adventures when it’s safe to travel again.

“Over the years Simon Reeve has become a great friend to us at Kuoni and a well-known face on our television screens, sharing the light and shade of destinations around the world.

“Along with Levison Wood and Megan Hine, we’re sharing some of their stories which will we hope will bring some adventure to our life in lockdown.”
