Back-Roads Touring suspends all peak summer tours

Australian-based Back-Roads Touring has suspended all global tours until the end of August.

People booked on a suspended tour who have paid more than a deposit are being offering a credit voucher for the full amount paid, to be used towards a future tour, plus an extra A$300, to be used for any tour until the end of 2021.

Those who have only paid deposits will receive a credit voucher for the amount paid, to be used towards a future tour until December 31, 2021.

“We’ll be contacting our affected customers in due course, starting with the most imminent departures first,” the operator said.

Tours scheduled from September 1 are due to depart as planned.

The firm said: “As the impact of the coronavirus pandemic continues around the globe and in line with current travel advice and restrictions, we’ve had to take the unfortunate decision to suspend all our tours globally, until 31 August 2020.

“The safety and well-being of our travellers is our focus right now, so while the plans have been put on pause, we’ll be back in September, exploring the road less travelled with you. “
