The Travel Network Group parts company with communications director

Worldchoice and Travel Trust Association parent The Travel Network Group has confirmed the departure of its communications director.

Alexis Coles-Barrasso left the consortium at the beginning of this month to “pursue new career opportunities”, the consortium has announced.

An experienced PR professional, Coles-Barrasso was group director of PR and communications for Thomas Cook for 17 years from 1993.

She started working as a consultant with TTNG in 2010 and in March 2019 she joined the group’s board as PR and communications director.

Her departure follows that of other directors of the travel agency organisation in recent months including chief operating office Lisa Henning and marketing director Si Morris-Green.

Both Henning and Morris-Green were part of the team which undertook a management buyout of The Travel Network Group in 2016, along with chief executive Gary Lewis, group finance and commercial director Vim Vithaldas, and group operations and risk director Avril Hurd who left the business in 2017.

Lewis said: “It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Alexis. As a team, we are grateful for her support and contribution over the years and on behalf of all of us at The Travel Network Group, we wish her well.’’

Coles-Barrasso said: “The situation we are currently working in has made me re-evaluate many things, and I have decided to pursue new career opportunities.’’

TTNG said it will not recruit a new PR and communications director and the role will be absorbed by existing team members.
